Get to know us!

The Southeast Michigan Stewardship Coalition is made up of schools, community partners, teacher consultants, and university educators working together to address serious ecological and social problems in Southeast Michigan. Funded by the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative (www.glstewardship.org), we facilitate school-community partnerships and offer sustained professional development to teachers to develop students as citizen-stewards who understand and can promote healthy ecological and social systems affecting the Great Lakes basin, the southeast Michigan region and their communities.

SEMIS Summer Institute at TBA

June 28, 2010 at 8am to July 1, 2010 at 3:30pm
This is a 3 and 1/2 day Professional Development Institute for teachers involved in this hub, and invited guests. This year our focus is on the watersheds that intersect in our region, the impacts on them by larger cultural, economic and political forces and, how they contribute to the overall Great Lakes ecosystem.
